What: Thornton Tomasetti’s Brian M. Volpe is scheduled to present on two topics at the upcoming NASCC: The Steel Conference, hosted by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) in Toronto, Canada. His presentation, “Structural Engineers and AISC, Removing the Reasons Why Not to Share the BIM!,” will highlight the role of structural engineering in the digital delivery of steel buildings, and focus on ways the AISC can support the structural engineer and the BIM-enabled process. Volpe will be joined by Sean Smith of SSOE and Will Ikerd of Ikerd Consulting.
Volpe is also scheduled to speak alongside Larry Kloiber of LeJeune Steel and Joel Sell of LTC Steel Detailers at a presentation titled “Epic – Deep Space – Design to be Constructed Fast Track.” The session will focus on the technical aspects of delivering the design, steel detailing, fabrication and erection of the 11,000-seat auditorium (expandable to 14,600 seats) on the Epic Systems Corporation campus in Verona, Wis.
