The Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY) will present Richard Tomasetti with the Honorary Member Award in recognition of his lifetime contribution to excellence in the industry.
Richard L. Tomasetti was recently awarded the 2008 George A. Fox Public Service Award at the 2008 Industry Recognition Dinner of the New York Building Congress that attracted 1,000 members in the building community.
The Concrete Industry Foundation, an educational fund that fosters excellence in design and construction through a scholarship and grant program for study in the concrete built environment, presented Dr. Charles H. Thornton and Richard L. Tomasetti, founding principals of Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., with the Foundation’s Humanitarian Fellow Award at its annual awards luncheon.
Richard Tomasetti, chairman of Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., one of the world’s leading structural engineering and design firms, will moderate a panel entitled “Life Stories: Consulting Engineering as a Career Path,” sponsored by the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York on Thursday, April 10th at 6 p.m. at the Cooper Union School of Engineering’s Wollman Auditorium at 51 Astor Place in Manhattan.

Tomasetti Inc., will be honored with the Eugene M. Smith Technical Writing
Award during the 2006 Roger H. Corbetta Awards Program held at the Concrete
Industry Board’s 45th Annual Awards Dinner at the Marina del Rey in The Bronx
on Tuesday, November 14th.
Richard L. Tomasetti, PE, Hon. AIA, chairman and co-founder of Thornton
Tomasetti Inc., has been awarded the 2006 AIA New York Chapter Award for his
outstanding contributions to architecture and engineering, and for fostering
collaboration in the greater design community. Mr. Tomasetti is currently
Chairman of the New York Building Foundation and Public Director of the AIA
New York Chapter.
