Brett Kaufmann has more than 20 years of structural engineering experience in seismic analysis and design of concrete, steel, wood, and light-gauge steel structures across a variety of market sectors including hospitality, retail, education, office and residential projects. Brett is also accomplished in design-build, fast-track, and design-bid-build delivery methods.

Some of his notable projects include the structural design for The Paramount in San Francisco (at 39 stories, the tallest precast concrete frame building in an active seismic zone) and Platinum Tower in Anaheim, and, in San Diego, the Fashion Valley Mall and Parking Structure expansion and the University of California at San Diego North Campus Housing Phase I.

Brett is a licensed civil and structural engineer in California and Nevada and a licensed civil engineer in Alabama. He served on the Board of Directors of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California from 2008 to 2010. Brett holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
