Thornton Tomasetti, the international engineering firm, announces the acquisition of Fore Solutions, a green building consulting firm that will allow Thornton Tomasetti to significantly expand its sustainability consulting services and integrate green objectives across all its practices.
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has named Joseph Burns, S.E., P.E., FAIA managing principal in the Chicago office of Thornton Tomasetti, a new member of the CTBUH Advisory Group, a select group drawn from the Council membership that provides strategic council and guidance to the Board of Trustees.
Joseph Burns, managing principal of Thornton Tomasetti, the international engineering firm with practices in building structure, building skin and building performance, will be on a panel discussion at the Columbia Building Intelligence Project in London, organized by the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
Joseph Burns will moderate a panel on “Minimizing Change Orders Through BIM Utilization” at the 2010 Airport Consultants Council/American Association of Airport Executives Airport Planning, Design & Construction Symposium.
“Tall and Supertall Buildings: Structure and Skin Performance” will be a feature topic at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, at the Renaissance Hotel & Convention Centre, Mumbai, February 3 – 5.
Joseph Burns, P.E., S.E., FAIA, LEED® AP, managing principal in the Chicago office of Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., one of the world’s leading structural engineering and design firms, was honored with the American Institute of Steel Construction, Inc. (AISC) Special Achievement Award for notable accomplishments in structural steel design, research and education at the North American Steel Construction Conference in Nashville, Tenn. on April 2nd.
