CAROL BENASSI

Vice President

Carol Benassi is a licensed architect with more than 26 years of design, construction, and project management experience. Since 1999, her focus has been on forensic architecture, participating in all aspects of forensic investigation and construction litigation, and has served as a designated expert in hundreds of cases, successfully representing clients in a wide range of design and construction related claims. Carol has been involved in all facets of project design and construction, including initial project conception, project design and engineering, construction of the project, as well as evaluating the performance of the project after completion. She has reviewed and analyzed the causes of construction defects resulting from decisions that were made throughout the design and building phases of a project.

Prior to joining Thornton Tomasetti, Carol owned and operated C Benassi Architecture, Inc. and Birch Construction, Inc. where her projects included custom homes, tenant improvements, commercial, and industrial facilities, and specialty trade work on interstate road projects. She is a registered architect in California and Utah. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and a master’s degree in architecture, both from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City.
