Faz Ehsan, Ph.D., P.E.
Senior Principal
Dr. Faz Ehsan serves as co-leader of the firm’s healthcare market sector and manager of the Chicago office. His nearly 20 years of structural engineering experience covers a range of project types including healthcare, commercial, education, aviation, performing arts and residential. His Chicago project credits include Rush University’s modernization program; Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s New Prentice Women’s Hospital, The University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department, and the sustainably driven Ford Calumet Environmental Center. Other notable projects include OSF St. Francis Medical Center/Children’s Hospital of Illinois Milestone Project in Peoria, Western Illinois University’s Macomb Performing Arts Center and the award-winning Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, Wis.
Faz is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). He is an Allied Individual Member of the American Institute of Architects, an Associate Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and was a jury member for Midwest Construction magazine’s Best of 2003 and Best of 2004 awards. His articles have appeared in numerous industry publications, including Structural Engineer, Healthcare Design and Civil Engineering.
He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Kuwait University, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering from The Johns Hopkins University.
