Ling-En Hsiao, Ph.D.
Senior Principal
Dr. Ling-En Hsiao has been with Thornton Tomasetti more than 15 years, applying his extensive experience in the analysis, design and review of a variety of structures, including commercial, mixed-use and long-span, in both steel and concrete. His responsibilities include all phases of design from schematic through construction administration. His supervisory design experience includes complex projects using a variety of systems and materials.
Dr. Ling’s expertise in international projects have earned him recognition and praise in the industry. Some of his most notable projects include Taipei 101, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, and Plaza 66 in China. He is the co-author, with Richard Tomasetti, on a CTBUH paper, “The Tallest Concrete Building in Shanghai, China—Plaza 66.”
He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from National Taipei Institute of Technology and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in structural engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
