Principal

Carol Post joined Thornton Tomasetti in 1997 with more than 30 years of experience in the structural design and evaluation of various building types, including concrete, steel and masonry. She is responsible for reviewing drawings and specifications, structural design, managing engineering staff and coordinating with architects, detailers, contractors and other consultants. Additional responsibilities include leading the firm-wide standards and QAQC committees and serving as co-chair for the firm-wide higher education committee. She is also involved with the green building strategy team.

Carol is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, and California. She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
