Albert Chen has more than 30 years of experience in the design of more than 20 million square feet of structures for diverse marketing sectors, including mixed-use projects, commercial, retail, parking, healthcare, education and hospitality. His portfolio includes the design of new buildings as well as structural tenant improvements, investigations, and seismic upgrades for existing structures. His responsibilities include project management with technical involvement from concept design through construction, quality control and quality assurance, and business development.

His recent work includes project management for the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco and the National Palace Museum in Taiwan as well as QA/QC for Shanghai Tower in Shanghai, which will be China’s tallest building when completed.

Albert is a licensed civil engineer and structural engineer in California and a licensed professional engineer in Washington. He is a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, the California Preservation Foundation, the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California, the USC Architectural Guild and the Design-Build Institute of America, and is active on the Seismology Committee of SEAOSC, which is heavily involved in the development of U.S. seismic codes.

Albert holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Chung Yuan University in Taiwan and a master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
