With more than 20 years of structural engineering experience, Mark Ellis specializes in risk assessment and mitigation programs for natural hazards. His project portfolio includes earthquake and hurricane risk assessments, probable maximum loss studies and development of mitigation measures for government facilities, schools, hospitals, industrial and pharmaceutical facilities. He also performs building investigations and damage assessments following loss events. In 2010, Mark performed on-site damage investigations following the M8.8 earthquake in Chile, and in 2011, Mark has spent significant time evaluating earthquake damage on-site in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Mark is a licensed civil and structural engineer in California. He holds bachelor’s (honors) and master’s degrees engineering from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
