Description
Thornton Tomasetti is a 650 person international professional building design firm that has been steadily expanding in staff numbers, regional office locations and building project types designed in each office. We currently seek an organized, conscientious, and personable individual for a new position developing our worldwide QA/QC program.
The QA/QC Administrator will occupy a central position in the planning, development and execution of Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures and activities, along with supporting technical standards activities and staff in-house training activities that will help us improve the quality of our work product.
The QA/QC Administrator will work directly with senior management and staff as part of a firm-wide initiative to establish, support and maintain a formalized system for sharing technical strengths and experiences across the firm. We envision growth in the roles and responsibilities of this position as natural outgrowths of the QA/QC process. For example, development and support of in-house training programs, and maintenance and dissemination of technical standards all serve to improve the quality of our work product.
Our principal business is the performance of professional design activities for owners of proposed, new and existing buildings. Our primary focus is structural engineering of building frames, but we also perform architectural and mechanical system designs and investigations. An engineering or architectural background is not necessary for the QA/QC Administrator, but a background in basic science and technology will help with understanding our activities and QA/QC needs. Familiarity with standard business and presentation software is necessary for efficient communications and for supporting the activities described above. The coordination, delegation, scheduling and follow-up of key in-house project reviews is an important element of the position, requiring frequent contact with staff members across the firm.

Requirements
1. BA/BS Degree including basic science and technology coursework.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with or managing multiple people in a large service firm or classroom setting.
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office products – including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
4. Familiar with project management and document control concepts, practices and procedures.
5. Effective and efficient when multitasking and interacting with others.
6. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
