Phase II of our FootPrint application has been launched! The application offers an interactive map and charts tracking Thornton Tomasetti’s progress towards achieving sustainability in our office operations and in our structural engineering projects across our office locations. Using this web-based tool, you will also meet our Green Champions, passionate employees from across the firm who volunteer to coordinate sustainability initiatives in their offices, and learn about some of their achievements.
As a member of AIA 2030 Commitment, Thornton Tomasetti is working towards the goal of carbon neutral business operations by 2030, and we measure our progress towards this goal through biennial carbon footprint analyses. We aim to reach this goal by reducing electricity use and waste in our offices and emissions from business travel and employee commuting. To demonstrate our further commitment to sustainability, we also annually measure and report on the embodied energy in our structural projects and strive to reduce the environmental impact of our buildings. Embodied energy measures the total primary energy consumed during raw materials extraction, refining, manufacturing, transportation and eventual disposal.
We are transparent in our reporting of our carbon footprint, and invite you to access the FootPrint application here.
