Thornton Tomasetti Promotes Three in Kansas City Office

The Thornton Tomasetti Board of Directors and Managing Principals announce the promotion of Gary A. Storm, P.E., LEED AP to senior principal, and Darren R. Hartman, P.E., LEED AP, and Robert Treece, P.E., S.E., LEED AP to principals in the Kansas City office of the international engineering firm.
Mr. Storm has more than 30 years of structural engineering experience, with an emphasis on the design of long-span roof structures for stadiums and arenas worldwide, as well as forensic investigations of collapsed and distressed structures. He has extensive experience with renovations, additions and improvements to existing structures, as well as rigging engineering for large-scale and complex entertainment events.
Mr. Storm is a licensed Professional Engineer in 17 states and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Institute of Steel Construction, Engineers Club of Kansas City and the Structural Assessment and Visual Evaluation Coalition. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
Mr. Hartman has 20 years of experience managing design projects, negotiating contracts and supervising engineering design project staff. He is the leader of the firm’s Construction Support Services practice. Mr. Hartman is a licensed Professional Engineer in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota. His professional memberships include the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Institute of Steel Construction and the Structural Engineers Association of Kansas and Missouri.
He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from South Dakota State University in Brookings and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University in Ames.
Mr. Treece has 25 years of experience in structural design, including structural analysis and review of a variety of building types. Mr. Treece is a licensed Professional Engineer in California, Mississippi, Missouri, Oregon, Nevada, Texas and Wisconsin and a licensed Structural Engineer in California and Arizona. He holds memberships in a number of professional organizations, including the Structural Engineers Association of Kansas and Missouri and the American Institute of Steel Construction.
Mr. Treece has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia and a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Texas, Austin.
