What: Thornton Tomasetti’s Džiugas Reneckis, Ph.D., P.E., will present a poster session on the “Seismic Design of Anchored Brick Veneer” at the 15th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering. Dr. Reneckis was presented with the 2011 Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award by the Masonry Society’s Research Committee for his work on this topic.
Dr. Reneckis’ work indicates that the global seismic performance of these wall systems is closely related to the local performance of the connections. His research has led to code changes and recommendations for existing brick veneer wall retrofitting.
