Thornton Tomasetti Featured at American Institute of Architects Design Exhibition Held in New York, October 6th, 2010

Who: Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., the international engineering design, investigation and analysis firm, will be a key participant at “Innovative Integrate: Building Better Together,” an AIA New York Chapter-sponsored exhibition, showcasing finalists of the Chapter’s “Open Call for Innovative Curtain-Wall Design.”

Innovate, the exhibition’s first section, highlights priorities in building technology, including material performance, energy harvesting and daylight optimization. Integrate, the second part, examines project delivery related to construction technologies, construction management and construction logistics

When: Exhibition runs from October 6th, 2010 through January 16th, 2011

What: The New Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY: Signature design features, such as the 500-foot-wide scoreboard/video board, enhanced with highly detailed, aesthetic connections developed by Thornton Tomasetti in a Tekla model.

Basrah Sports City Stadium, Iraq: Thornton Tomasetti is providing structural design and building skin modeling for this multipurpose sports complex intended to be the 2013 Gulf Cup’s host location. An animation depicts the firm’s building skin design modeling.

New York Law School: The recently completed academic center opened for the 2010/2011 academic year in Manhattan’s TriBeCa. An animation shows how an innovative approach to top-down construction accelerated the project schedule.
