Carrasco International Airport
Montevideo, Uruguay
Construction has begun on a new terminal at the Carrasco International Airport. We worked on the 1,000-foot long roof covering the three-story terminal building. The roof structure consists of long-span steel trusses with double angles and W-sections, the trusses extending from the ground to the V-columns on the top story of the terminal building; attached to the V-columns is a glass façade. With both arrivals and departures halls, the terminal will have a maximum passenger capacity of 915 and accommodate 1,550,000 passengers per year. Rafael Viñoly is the architect.
