Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Hamon Tower
Dallas, Texas

A new 460,000-SF, 10-story tower at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas – the largest expansion ever for the decades-old hospital – opened this week. Designed by HKS Architects, Hamon Tower features 177 private rooms that are 25 percent larger than traditional hospital rooms and nursing substations between rooms. It is completely wired with all health records being stored electronically, rendering the hospital paperless. It includes a stepped retaining wall with planters, exterior glass wall and sky bridges connecting the tower to the main building. An additional 397,000-SF, 1,169-space parking structure has been added to accommodate the new facility. The tower is named in honor of Dallas philanthropist Nancy B. Hamon and is devoted to intensive care for the region’s most critically ill patients.
