We have reached 95% completion of construction documents and early construction packages are being released for the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building. The four-story, 194,000-gross-sf building, which varies in height from 64 to 80 feet, has a lateral system of ordinary reinforced concrete shear walls and a mixed gravity system consisting of two-way slabs with edge beams, flat plate and one-way slabs and joists. The foundation system is micro-piles, with the basement slab elevation at approximately two feet below the water table. The project requires stringent vibration criteria varying from 33 to 2,000 micro inches per second for imaging suites, clean rooms and synthesis and research lab spaces. The project includes a steel pedestrian bridge that connects the research and classroom/laboratory spaces. We are also providing a full Revit model. Occupancy is anticipated for summer 2013. The architect is Ayers/Saint/Gross Architects.
