The new home of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals recently opened in Springdale, Ark. The exterior incorporates natural stone from local quarries, contributing to the organic look of the building. HOK is the architect for the 7,000-seat stadium, with Thornton Tomasetti providing structural engineering. Engineers working on the ballpark’s performance-based design fabric canopy faced the challenge of responding to frequent architectural design changes that occurred well into construction. Consequently, Thornton Tomasetti provided a retrofit design that modified existing structures to accommodate the finalized canopy.
