Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Prentice Women’s Hospital
Chicago, Ill.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Prentice Women’s Hospital has recently received LEED Silver certification. Designed by VOA Associates and OWP/P Architects, the hospital is the first LEED-certified inpatient hospital in the state and the largest nationally among only three others. Sustainable design elements include a 9,500-SF green roof, building materials with high recycled content values and use of local/regional materials. The 17-story, 950,000-SF facility is designed to handle 13,600 births annually and provides an array of women’s health services. We were the structural engineering consultants for the hospital which opened in 2007.
