Ridgecrest Regional Hospital Expansion
Ridgecrest, Calif.

The Ridgecrest Hospital, a full-service acute care hospital just east of the Southern Sierra Mountain Ranges, is structurally complete. We provided structural design services for NTD Architecture for the 74,100-SF, two-phase expansion, which includes a 47,000-SF, two-story steel special moment frame, a 43-bed tower, a seismically detached 25,800-SF two-story steel braced frame medical office building and a single-story steel moment frame cafeteria remodeling and expansion. New construction required demolition of 25 percent of the existing single-story hospital, built in the 1940s. A central plant expansion was required for added utility needs.
