Construction is complete on the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The 270,000-SF terra cotta building will feature a 24,000-SF, three-story tall glass roofed Winter Garden, which we designed, with exposed steel cruciform columns joined with steel plate beams and W6 purlins, the framing having minimal connections. The design maximizes the use of natural air and light while providing a wide view of the surroundings. The building will contain classrooms, group study spaces, administrative and faculty offices, labs, library spaces, lounges, a café and a two-tiered 500-seat auditorium. The architect is Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. It is scheduled to be open for the spring 2009 semester.
