Allen worked at Thornton Tomasetti early in his career and rejoined the firm in 2014.

Allen Thompson has more than 20 years of experience in structural design, construction phase services and project management. His portfolio includes large-scale commercial developments, sports facilities, laboratories, academic buildings and judicial facilities. He manages and executes structural design projects, provides construction support services and supports the firm’s business development efforts.

Large-Scale Project Experience
Allen worked at Thornton Tomasetti early in his career and rejoined the firm in 2014, after 17 years with WSP USA. His portfolio includes several large metropolitan projects including Citi Field, the 45,000-seat home to the New York Mets, and Citicorp’s 1.5-million-square-foot Court Square Two, both in Queens, and the one-million-square-foot Bronx Criminal Court.

Sharing his Knowledge
Allen is the author of several articles and technical papers, including “Diamond in the Rough,” a May, 2009 Civil Engineering magazine article on the design of Citi Field ballpark, home of the New York Mets. A September 2007 article in Modern Steel Construction that he wrote discusses the structural design of a 36-story office building.

Outside of Work
Allen enjoys working on home improvement projects – he loves to build things – and road biking. He also loves to ski with his family and to coach ski racing. His two daughters share his passion for skiing and are competitive ski racers.
