I enjoy the challenges inherent in bridge design and inspection as well as making the transportation world a safer place.

As a vice president in the Weidlinger Transportation practice, Anthony Balseca plays a leadership role in the bridge inspection group. During his more than 22-year career, Anthony has inspected or managed the inspection of nearly every major bridge in New York City.

Long- and Short-Span Expertise
Anthony has extensive experience in the design and inspection of major long-span and conventional short-span bridges. He has served as project manager, quality control engineer and team leader for the inspections of the arterial bridges in various counties in New York for the New York State Department of Transportation, including the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queensboro bridges. He has performed inspections on several other New York-area suspension bridges and biennial inspections of approach bridges for the George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel and LaGuardia Airport. Anthony’s work outside the New York area includes performing in-depth inspections of major Ohio River crossings for the West Virginia Department of Transportation. These include the Silver Memorial Bridge, Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge and the Star City Bridge.

Outside of Work
When he is not climbing bridges, Anthony enjoys hitting the slopes. In warmer months, he can be found at Yankee Stadium rooting for the Bombers or hiking with his children at New York’s Bear Mountain.
