It is an honor to be part of an organization founded by such visionaries as Lev Zetlin, Charlie Thornton, Richard Tomasetti, Matthys Levy and Mario Salvadori. I hope to help carry on their legacy of innovation.

Brent Vollenweider specializes in structural engineering and physical security design for buildings. He has extensive experience designing reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete and structural steel structures for public agencies and private clients.

Design & Forensics
Brent’s project management experience covers a wide range of building types, construction delivery methods and overall construction cost. His project credits include more than 10 U.S. embassies worldwide, facilities for Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Cornell University and the $1 billion-plus development of two adjacent high-rise towers, totaling 1.1 million square feet, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and City University of New York in Manhattan. In addition to his design skills, Brent has significant experience in a variety of forensic engineering projects, including the collapse of the Tropicana Resort and Casino Parking Garage in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Brent also gives back to the profession by teaching a structural design class at Boston Architectural College in Massachusetts.

Outside of Work
In his free time, Brent enjoys a variety of outdoor activities. In the summer, he golfs as much as possible and likes to go skiing in the winter. Brent returns to his native Juneau, Alaska, once or twice a year to visit family and enjoy the beautiful coastline and mountains in the southeastern part of the state.
