With a project portfolio that spans the globe, Eric has designed a wide range of challenging structures.

Eric Fenske joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2017, bringing more than 15 years of experience in structural design to the firm. With a project portfolio that includes tall and supertall buildings, high-rises, mixed-used developments, exhibition halls and a variety of other structures, Eric has been involved in the design of a wide range of challenging high-profile projects in the U.S. and internationally. He collaborates with architects, owners and contractors to ensure that a structure meets the requirements of all stakeholders.

Diverse Project Experience
Eric has played a leading role on several notable projects, including the Central Market in Abu Dhabi, UAE, a mixed-used development with three high-rise towers; the award-winning UAE Pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010 in China with a sand dune-inspired design; and the 350-meter-tall Hanking Center, which features a unique offset core design, in Shenzhen, China.

Outside of Work
A native of Minnesota who has called Chicago home for many years, Eric splits his loyalty between his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, and football team, the Minnesota Vikings. (Fun fact: Thornton Tomasetti designed the Vikings’ new home, U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis). Eric also enjoys discovering old-school dining spots with his wife, crushing opponents at trivia meet ups, and riding his bike through the city year-round. Oh, and playing golf. Lots of golf.
