Jim Dray is responsible for IT operations, including infrastructure, network services and security, end-user support and application management. He plays a key role in the development and implementation of the firm’s IT strategy, ensuring that business systems and design technologies align with organizational goals and objectives. Jim also works closely with leadership to accelerate opportunities to bring new and innovative technologies to the firm’s clients around the globe.
For most of his 30-year career, Jim has worked in the architecture, engineering and construction industry as well as the environmental and energy development sectors in the United States and Europe. Prior to joining Thornton Tomasetti in 2018, he was a corporate vice president of information technology at AECOM, where he oversaw the strategic use of technology for business worldwide. He also has management consulting and manufacturing technology strategy experience.
Jim is an expert in the strategic use of technology to improve business processes and create competitive advantage. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics related to technology, including knowledge management, business development, digital transformation and innovation.
Outside of Work
A Chicago native, Jim now resides in Connecticut with his wife and two sons. A true tech nerd, he likes to tinker with electronics and is currently building a Segway in his basement. He also enjoys tackling carpentry projects and is most proud of the kitchen table he made. Jim is an outdoors enthusiast. In winter, he heads for snow-covered trails for some cross-country skiing, and in warmer weather goes bicycling, hiking and scuba diving.
