Jimmy co-authored an article for Structure on the renovation and expansion of the Dunkin’ Donuts Center – home to the AHL Providence Bruins and Providence College Friars.

Jimmy Liu has more than 20 years of structural engineering experience on projects in the United States, Asia and the Middle East. His areas of expertise include seismic design, long-span and complex roof structures, the design of new structures and renovations, and expansions of sports and public assembly facilities. His portfolio also includes design and detailing for office towers, healthcare and educational facilities, and post-disaster damage assessment of existing structures.

Prior to joining Thornton Tomasetti in 2005, Jimmy was a senior project engineer at Ellerbe Becket, working on a wide range of corporate and university projects nationwide and in Asia.

Outside of Work
Since moving to the U.S. in 1995, Jimmy has lived in the Kansas City area with his family. In his spare time, he keeps busy with his three children and working on home improvement projects. He also enjoys reading and playing basketball.
