John’s project management skills effectively break down traditional barriers among architects, engineers and contractors, resulting in highly successful integrated project delivery.

John Boyer specializes in MEP forensics and design with experience in HVAC and fire suppression/protection systems. He joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2012 with more than 25 years of experience in a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, educational and institutional facilities. His responsibilities involve MEP/FP forensic and property loss investigations, expert witness and testimony/litigation support, building system performance issues, design/engineering, building code expertise and business development.

Building Bridges with Integrated Project Delivery
John has shown exceptional dedication in the completion of 400+ forensic and design projects, meeting or exceeding all targets on time and within budget. He has led all phases of architectural engineering design components for a wide range of MEP/FP and architectural system projects. John is known for effectively breaking down traditional barriers among architects, engineers and contractors, with a belief that strong project management is critical to the integrated project delivery process.

Outside of Work
John enjoys a variety of outdoor activities involving sports and nature. When he hits the road outside of work, it’s to a beach or to follow his son’s professional basketball career throughout Europe as well as keep tabs on his daughter’s teaching career in western New York. His wife is also an established architectural engineer, so many of their extracurricular activities involve the AE professional community.
