José honed his expertise in complex healthcare facility design by working on numerous projects for Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

José Medero has more than 17 years of experience designing structures for new buildings and renovation projects, and performing engineering investigations and peer reviews. As a vice president, he is responsible for project management, structural design, the preparation of construction documents, and construction administration, while closely collaborating with architects, clients, contractors and other design consultants.

Healthcare and IPD Expertise
An expert in the design of complex healthcare facilities, José is also experienced in residential and commercial buildings and cultural, religious and educational facilities. He is highly skilled at delivering projects via integrated project delivery (IPD), bridging documents and design-build methods, in addition to traditional design-bid-build, for both private and public entities. His international portfolio includes projects in Brazil, the United Kingdom, Canada and Spain.

A Focus on Quality
He assists in the implementation and oversight of firm-wide quality assurance/quality control and has served as the QA/QC manager for the Chicago office. José is also a Certified Structural Peer Reviewer for the City of Chicago.

Outside of Work
José, who lives in Chicago with his wife and children, enjoys traveling in Europe, South America and – his favorite – Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised. He uses his knowledge of design and construction to advise his church parish on building-renovation projects.
