Mark Andrews has more than 10 years of experience in structural and forensic investigations, condition and damage assessments, renovations, litigation support and property loss consulting. His expertise includes reinforced concrete, steel, cast iron, masonry, wood and other construction materials. Mark enjoys developing true partnerships with clients and working with them to anticipate and resolve potential concerns before they arise. He is also active in mentoring and teaching younger staff to help them reach their full potential.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Mark specializes in structural investigations of collapses, general failures, fire losses and damage caused by severe weather. He leads multidisciplinary teams in post-event investigations of a variety of natural as well as man-made events. His experience includes responses to Tropical Storm Irene and CAT-90 Sandy, both in the greater New York City area; evaluation of commercial and residential structures after the 2011 Virginia earthquake; tornado damage assessment at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and many others.
Renovation and Restoration Expertise
Mark is also skilled in the renovation and restoration of existing commercial, cultural, hospitality and mission-critical facilities. Notable work includes structural analysis and design for several upgrades to the Empire State Building’s office, broadcasting and tourist facilities. He is also experienced in the façade assessment and remedial design services required for New York’s FISP (formerly Local Law 11) program.
Outside of Work
In his off hours, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is a fantasy football enthusiast and is captain of the NY/NJ Thornton Tomasetti basketball team, the Terracotta Men.
