Michael Gerasopoulos joined Thornton Tomasetti in 1998 and has more than 15 years of structural design and management experience. His work involves the design of renovations and alterations to existing structures, investigation of structural failures, condition assessment of buildings’ structural systems, due diligence and feasibility studies, and peer reviews.

Michael’s body of work is almost exclusively in the New York City area, encompassing a broad range of building types, including steel-framed, reinforced concrete, wood and masonry structures. He also assisted with the World Trade Center Disaster Response, assessing damage in the area. His key projects include 767 Fifth Ave. (GM Building), 601 Lexington Ave. (Citicorp Building), 599 Lexington Ave., 125 Broad St., 450 Park Ave. and World Financial Center Buildings 1, 2, 3 and 4. He supervised façade restoration at 100 Avenue of the Americas and 1359 Broadway, and provided investigation services at 56 Pine St. and 235 East 42nd St.

Outside of Work
Michael is an avid tennis player and enjoys landscaping and performing construction work on his house.
