Pat has helped shape not only skylines across the Southwest, but also the next generation of engineering professionals through her work as a mentor.

Patricia Coleman serves as Thornton Tomasetti’s liaison to the ACE Mentor Program, which teams architecture, construction and engineering professionals with high school students. A retired principal of the firm and former manager of the Dallas office, she was a leader in structural design and project management for more than 30 years. During her career, Pat has helped shape not only skylines across the Southwest through a series of successful projects, but also the next generation of engineering professionals through her work as a mentor, both in and out of the office.

Strong Mentorship for the Next Generation
Pat has been involved with the ACE Mentor Program since 2003. She serves as chair of the ACE National Affiliates Council, sits on the National Executive Board and is a member of the ACE Dallas/Fort Worth board of directors. She continues to promote the program within the firm, touching base with the ACE coordinators in each office and making sure volunteer mentors are recognized.

Healthcare Expertise
Although Pat has worked on a wide range of structural design projects over the years, her particular specialization is the healthcare sector. Her resume includes numerous projects with Texas Health Resources, one of the state’s leading healthcare delivery systems.

Alumna Honors
In 2011, she was inducted into the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Academy at The University of Iowa, and she serves as a member of the The University of Iowa College of Engineering Advisory Board.

Outside of Work
Pat and her husband Gary now live in her home state of Iowa to be closer to family, which includes two new grandchildren.
