Paul Becker

P.E., SECB Senior Principal

About

Paul Becker has vast structural engineering experience, working on a range of projects primarily in the Northeastern U.S. His broad background includes complex steel and timber framing systems; cast-in-place, precast and post-tensioned concrete; deep foundation support systems; and soil retaining structures. Whether it’s the design of a new hospital or the renovation of a local landmark, Paul works closely with clients and others on the team to ensure that structural concepts enhance and advance the architectural vision and project goals. His solutions often include innovative systems, methods and materials for creating high-performing, energy-efficient buildings. Paul is actively involved in the effort to advance the use of mass timber building systems. Timber is not only a cost-effective alternative to steel and concrete, but it is also helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the built environment. In addition to his design work, Paul serves on the Maine Mass Timber Advisory Committee.
