The best part about specializing in AEC law has been the clients. I enjoy their creativity, dedication and sense of practicality.

Robert Honig has overseen all aspects of Thornton Tomasetti’s legal affairs since joining the firm in 2012. In addition to providing legal guidance to the Board of Directors and senior management, his responsibilities include contract negotiation, litigation support, risk management, transactional-related activities, and ethics and compliance oversight.

Bobby has more than 20 years of legal experience, and for the past 15 years he has specialized in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) law – most recently as the Global Head of Architects and Engineers claims at the Beazley Insurance Company. He has managed all phases of litigation, arbitration and mediation in defense of design professionals as well as all types of construction contracts. He also provided general counsel services to AEC firms with respect to employment issues, various corporate formats and risk management strategies.

Outside of Work
Bobby is an avid sports fan. He can often be found playing or coaching soccer, basketball, tennis or baseball. He also takes an active role in the sports activities of his two elementary school-aged sons.
