Steve leads the Mission Critical market sector, overseeing project delivery for confidential data and telecommunications centers throughout North America.

Stephen Szycher joined Thornton Tomasetti in 1998 and leads the firm’s Mission Critical market sector. He is recognized for his innovative design and analysis of a variety of building types, including commercial, mixed-use, educational, healthcare and mission critical facilities. He maintains constant contact with his architectural clients and is responsible for overseeing analysis and design, coordinating with other disciplines, preparing technical specifications and producing drawings.

Next-Gen Mentoring
Steve has been a visiting professor at Pratt Institute since 2008, and has guest lectured at Cornell University and the Rhode Island School of Design.

Outside of Work
Steve is a veteran marathon runner and has been competing in long-distance events since 2001. He’s completed the New York City Marathon 10 times, once running on actor Edward Norton’s team, raising funds for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust in Africa.
