Steven Highfill is an executive in the Weidlinger Transportation practice. He leads the design and construction of complex, high-profile building and tunnel projects. Steve has extensive experience in underground construction, particularly in the development of alternate structural systems, underpinning and the design of measures to mitigate blast effects.

Transit Credentials
Steve began his 35-year career with Weidlinger in the Cambridge, Massachusetts, office working on notable building, transportation and infrastructure projects, including the Central Artery/Tunnel and MBTA transit lines. Since relocating to New York, he has been involved in a range of new design and investigation projects. His recent experience includes permanent re-support of subway stations for the Dey Street Concourse, part of the Fulton Center transit center and retail complex; underpinning existing buildings for 72nd Street Station for the Second Avenue tunnel project; reconstruction of MTA’s Bleecker Street Station; and the permanent re-support of the 1 Line subway as part of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub.

Outside of Work
Steve enjoys travelling with his family. He looks forward to semi-regular reunions with college friends and their families in places like Colorado and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He plays competitive bridge and tennis and enjoys hiking, although he doesn’t find nearly enough time for these activities.
