Archmere Academy Student Life Center
Thornton Tomasetti provided structural engineering services for the new 35,000-square-foot student life center on the 33-acre campus with 500 students at Archmere Academy. The building provides a state-of-the-art cafeteria and worship space as well as offices for the school’s administrative staff. A key feature of the design is the glass curtain wall that faces the newly created quad. The temporary cafeteria was in the basement of St. Norbert Hall, a classroom building. The siting of the project creates an enclosed campus creating the quad in a space formerly occupied by a parking lot.
