Bridgestone Arena, situated in downtown Nashville, features a distinctive roof design that slopes in a downward longitudinal direction to minimize volume. Thornton Tomasetti provided structural design services for the new arena. Analysis of the roof for eight different stages of construction was performed to provide minimal shoring during erection. A series of economical structural systems to frame the building’s unique icons includes the 22-story spotlight shaped visitor center/icon tower. The 750,000-square-foot arena offers flexibility to accommodate civic and entertainment events with a 15,000-square-foot rehearsal hall, 10,000-square-foot exhibit space, and 15,000-square-feet of meeting rooms.

Bridgestone Arena serves as home to the NHL Nashville Predators and has hosted Men’s NCAA, SEC and Men’s and Women’s OVC tournaments along with a variety of concerts and community events.
