Front Street District
We are undertaking structural design for two boutique retail buildings, totaling 70,000 square feet, and a new parking garage. The project was designed using Revit modeling software.
The single-story retail buildings feature elaborate architectural stone facades supported by a steel and bar-joist structural system. Thornton Tomasetti provided value engineering input on the complex facades that helped to maintain the architect’s aesthetic vision while staying within budget. Each of the two structures is divided by a 1,500-square-foot pedestrian walkway with a pitched-glass roof that leads to parking facilities, one of which is the new garage being designed as part of the project.
The new parking garage is a five-level pre-cast concrete structure on a caisson and grade beam foundation. The 132,000-square-foot facility will provide space for 320 cars.
