Napa County Criminal Division Courthouse
This three-story, 45,000-square-foot building houses six secure courtrooms and associated offices. A pedestrian tunnel connects the new courthouse to an existing county justice facility for the secure transfer of prisoners.
The building is an eccentrically braced steel frame with electrical raceways blended into the concrete floors to provide flexibility in locating power, data, and communication services. The exterior is clad in a combination of precast concrete and granite. The structural design utilized performance-based seismic engineering and site-specific earthquake ground motions.
