Thornton Tomasetti is providing structural engineering services to implement a new master plan at Rose Bowl Stadium. The renovation project will provide an additional 1,900 premium seats and the press box will be reconstructed to include luxury suites, loge boxes, club seats, and lounge areas. The southern scoreboard will be replaced with a 1940s-era replica, and the north end will receive new signage with a longer high-definition video board. To accommodate a larger number of attendees, the renovation will increase the number of restroom fixtures and concession stands. The design also widens the existing vomitory tunnels and adds more aisles to ease the entering and exiting traffic.

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2011 and be completed in time for the 100th Rose Bowl game and the Bowl Championship Series title game in 2014.
