San Jose City College, Student and Career Center
The new Student and Career Services Center is a two-story, 68,000-square-foot building which serves as the gateway to the San Jose City College campus. The building houses all student, faculty, staff and visitor services functions including the bookstore and main dining.
The structural framing system is a special moment-resisting steel frame with a composite concrete floor, supported on a conventional spread footing foundation. The design of the building flows seamlessly from the interior to the exterior to connect with formal and informal gathering spaces.
