Shanghai YangPu Lot 2 is a mixed-use development consisting of an office tower, a retail podium and below-grade retail and parking. The 46-story office tower encompasses 64,369 square meters of space. The six-story, 74,156-square-meter retail podium features a waterfall that cascades from the roof of the podium down to the first floor, giving shoppers a sense of being in an outdoor open space. To increase the feeling of an outdoor space, a miniaturized, Grand Canyon-like attraction is to be installed below grade. The below-grade retail and parking area is approximately 92,411 square meters.
Thornton Tomasetti was retained by the owner to provide structural deign services up to the Design Development Phase for the retail portion and Schematic Design Phase for the office tower of this mixed-use project.
