Ttukseom is an impressive 2.6-million-square-foot mixed-use development. The complex consists of two 54-story residential towers, a 35-story office tower, a performing arts center, retail, and seven levels of underground parking. Thornton Tomasetti is the structural engineer for all segments of the project.

The office tower incorporates dramatic 90-foot unbraced columns at the base. The concrete residential towers feature outriggers and belts to control wind accelerations. Utilization of top-down construction on the residential portion of the project sped-up the schedule for below-grade work.

Key to the project’s success has been the project team members’ international coordination and collaboration.
