Viva ELVIS Theater at ARIA
Thornton Tomasetti provided structural design services for this steel-framed 165,000 gross-square-foot performing arts theater custom built for Cirque Du Soleil’s Viva ELVIS show. The facility includes an 1,800-seat auditorium with balcony, full flyloft with multiple catwalks, support spaces and a feature lobby. The entire building was drawn in Revit from schematic design through construction administration.
In addition to the theatre, Thornton Tomasetti’s work on the Las Vegas CityCenter Development consists of a 61-story, five-star hotel tower, a convention center, a casino, a retail podium, a bridge, and a central plant serving the entire complex. The MGM CityCenter Development is the biggest construction project in the U.S., with a total project cost of more than $7 billion.
