Healthcare

Our leadership in engineering healthcare facilities comes from our understanding of the unique structural issues in healthcare facility design, our collaborative approach, and use of technology and proven processes to achieve budget, function and schedule objectives. We understand that healthcare design is an interactive process that requires synthesizing extensive information and collaboration among many disciplines. We coordinate with acoustic and vibration consultants to protect sensitive spaces from sound and vibration. We address the unique requirements of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and technology systems for healthcare that pose special structural design challenges. We are experienced in designing and detailing the structures required for special equipment, such as shielding for linear accelerators and magnetic resonance imaging units.

Our structural designs have the flexibility to accommodate the rapid evolution of technology and cost-effectively address future facility expansion. We develop elegant approaches to overcome difficult site constraints and design structural solutions for new construction that minimize disruption of services in existing buildings.

We continuously incorporate emerging design trends into our approach, resulting in healthcare facilities that meet the needs of medical staff, and provide a comfortable environment for patients.
