Thornton Tomasetti, the international engineering firm, announces that Jeffrey K. Luney, AIA, LEED AP has joined the company as a vice president in its Forensics practice. Luney has more than 35 years of professional experience in architectural design and forensics. He specializes in building envelope investigation and consulting for commercial, institutional and residential construction.
• At Thornton Tomasetti, Luney will manage projects for the Property Loss Consulting and Forensics practices, and will perform forensic architectural investigation and analysis, expert witness services and design for building renewal.
• Prior to joining Thornton Tomasetti, he was a principal at Abraxas Architecture in San Francisco, Calif., where he formed a specialty practice focusing on forensic architecture, litigation support and expert witness services.
• Luney holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is a licensed architect in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Arizona, Maryland and Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in San Francisco. He also serves as a mentor for the AIA’s ARE Pact Program.
