What: Thornton Tomasetti’s Lynn N. Simon, Abena Darden and Colin Schless will be featured presenters at the upcoming 2014 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in New Orleans, La.
As part of the session *“Galvanizing Transformation: An Internal Revolution,”* Simon will lead participants through a series of exercises that will connect sustainability concepts to measurable business objectives that will help organizations gain the capability to achieve sustainable performance goals.
Darden will be a presenter for the session *“What’s New in the Neighborhood? Everything You Need to Know About LEED-ND Version 4.”* She will offer an in-depth look into the upcoming changes to the LEED for Neighborhood Development rating system and how it will affect developers, urban planners, and project owners as they pursue LEED ND v4 certification.
Schless will be a panel speaker for *“LEED for Existing Building Operations and Maintenance (O+M) Volume Connect and Learn.”* Schless, along with Anna Denell of Vasakronan, Sweden’s largest real estate company, will detail their efforts to certify Vasakronan’s portfolio through LEED for Existing Building Operations and Maintenance. This process involves tracking energy and water usage, waste generation, and indoor air quality, as well as working with Vasakronan to document and refine the existing operations in its portfolio.

Who: Lynn N. Simon, FAIA, LEED Fellow, is a senior vice president in Thornton Tomasetti’s San Francisco, Calif. office. She has more than 22 years of experience in the green building industry, and spent 19 years as president of Simon & Associates, a green building consulting firm she founded. Simon has become one of the leading subject matter experts on LEEDv4.
Abena Darden is a project director and LEED Green Associate in the firm’s San Francisco office. She provides sustainability consulting for large- and small-scale developments including master planned projects and those pursuing LEED-ND. Darden has also consulted on LEED for New Construction and Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance projects.
Colin Schless, LEED AP BD+C, CPHC, is a senior project director in Thornton Tomasetti’s Portland, Maine office, specializing in energy analysis for high performance green buildings (new and retrofit); monitoring and verification work; installation and configuration of monitoring systems, as well as post-occupancy data analysis.
