Getting to New York’s Governor’s Island could get easier.
Citizens Bridge, designed by artist Nancy Nowacek, would allow pedestrians to walk the 1400-foot span between the Brooklyn waterfront and the nearby park of Governor’s Island one day a year. We’re providing structural design consulting for the modular bridge, which would be the longest temporary bridge in New York City history.
Nowacek is seeking to raise $25,000 for a proof-of-concept and is hoping to get the green light on the bridge by next year. For more information, visit her Kickstarter page.
